SUBJECT: Notice of Annual Meeting, Elections and Vacancies

This is a notice to advise Pacific Community Credit Union (PCCU) members that the Nominating Committee is considering those interested in seeking candidacy for positions on the Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee. There are three positions on the Board of Directors to be elected for a three-year term. There is one position on the Board of Directors to be elected for a one-year term. There is one position on the Supervisory Committee to be elected for a three-year term.

The Nominating Committee will evaluate all interested members. Those selected will stand for election at PCCU’s annual Meeting to be held on March 1, 2017. To be considered, call the Chairperson of the Nominating Committee, Aleta Reeser, at (714) 482-5719, or you may request an application by writing to the Nominating Committee c/o Pacific Community Credit Union at P.O. Box 34003, Fullerton, CA 92834-9403. Completed applications must be received by September 1, 2016. 

Nominations may also be made by petition. Such petition must be signed within 11 months prior to the Annual Meeting by greater than 100 members or 1/20th of 1% of the membership (100 signatures are required for a petition). Such petition shall be delivered to the Secretary of the Board of Directors by the date set for the close of nominations. In the event of mailed petitions, the postmark date shall be used to determine the effective date of the petition. Close of Nominations is December 31, 2016.

Board of Directors: Those who serve Pacific Community Credit Union as a member of the Board of Directors will exhibit a strong sense of responsibility, a desire to promote the purpose and mission of PCCU, and a degree of expertise in some areas of credit union activity. Involvement includes preparation for, and attendance at, one board meeting per month, a few special meetings during the year for planning, resolution of special issues, training, or education, and will most likely involve a further time commitment of some magnitude supporting an area of special interest such as advertising, member relations or fiscal management.

Board members are elected by, and are responsible to, the members for the continuing prudent operation of PCCU as a cooperative membership financial institution providing a spectrum of financial services. Their function is to assure this goal through the selection, direction, and review of the management staff and the policies, which guide the day-to-day operation of PCCU. To be considered, you must be an active member of Pacific Community Credit Union in good standing.

Supervisory Committee: In this position, you will be urged to become knowledgeable in the operation of PCCU, with particular emphasis on its financial reporting and recording mechanisms. You are responsible for securing a meaningful audit at least annually, including verification of member accounts. You will offer observations to the Board with respect to the prudent operation of the Credit Union. To be considered, you must be an active member of Pacific Community Credit Union in good standing.
